Key Questions to Know About UAV Operation Identification in GB 46750

01.What information needs to be transmitted during UAV operation?

1.Identity information of the UAV;

2.Real-time position, speed, altitude, status and other related information of the UAV;

3.Position, altitude and other related information of the control station;

02. What two modes are used by UAVs to transmit operation identification information?

UAVs must be equipped with both broadcast and network operation identification functions.

Broadcast Operation Identification

Broadcast operation identification is a mode in which unmanned aircraft broadcast operation identification information to non-specific recipients. Its receiving and processing system captures information within a certain range around itself.

Purposes:

1. To realize real-time monitoring of the flight dynamics of unmanned aircraft in the area and support the safety supervision work of the area;

2.To obtain information about unmanned aircraft approaching or flying over the surrounding areas of key monitored regions;

3.When the public is concerned about whether there are unmanned aircraft operating in the surrounding space, they can learn about the operation status of surrounding unmanned aircraft and their control station information through broadcast operation identification receiving terminals;

Network Operation Identification

Network operation identification is a mode that actively transmits the operation identification information of civil unmanned aircraft systems to the corresponding receiving system through the network, which is then processed by the relevant data processing system.

Purposes:

1. To realize the unified and centralized management of unmanned aircraft operation identification data, laying the foundation for real-time monitoring of flight dynamics nationwide;

2.To provide data support for constructing a low-altitude flight service guarantee system and a safety supervision system.

03.What impact will the release and implementation of the new regulation have on already sold UAVs?

To balance the implementation of the new regulation and user rights and interests, the authorities have formulated a clear transition period arrangement, with the following key implementation points:

1.Before May 1, 2026: Prioritize installing operation identification modules on UAVs without operation identification transmission functions to ensure their normal use after the implementation of the new regulation.

2.Starting from May 1, 2026: UAVs without operation identification transmission functions shall not be operated. UAVs equipped with either broadcast or network operation identification transmission functions but failing to meet the specified provisions of the Specification may continue to operate until November 1, 2026.

3.Before November 1, 2026: All UAVs within the scope of application shall be installed with operation identification modules to ensure they have both broadcast and network operation identification functions, meeting at least the requirements of the specified provisions of the Specification.

4.The transition period runs from the date of implementation to May 1, 2029. UAVs that only meet the requirements of the specified provisions of the Specification by installing modules are permitted to operate.

5.Starting from May 1, 2029: All UAVs within the scope of application must fully comply with the requirements of the Specification before they can be operated.

6.For UAVs eligible for firmware upgrade to meet the operation identification requirements, manufacturers shall take the initiative to announce product firmware upgrade service plans; for those not eligible, manufacturers shall take the initiative to announce hardware upgrade service plans.

04.Will information submission lead to the leakage of personal privacy?

Answer:No!
Operation identification information only includes relevant flight and identity data of the UAV and the control station, and does not contain any personal information of users, such as name, phone number, address, etc.
